Why chips rust sooner by the lake
Porcelain enamel protects the steel beneath it only while it stays whole. Reading where the rust has gone
A chip in open porcelain is a blemish and nothing more. Surface rust on the porcelain is not. Rust that roughens a burner seat is different: the burner can sit unevenly and the flame burns lopsided or lifts.
